The break begins on Thursday, December 10 at 9 am PST. "This phase of development has been key, but now it's time to analyze the data we have, dig into your feedback even further, and put that knowledge to use as best we can," Blizzard explained.
Blizzard will use this time not only to evaluate the "bug reports, suggestions, critiques, and experiences" shared by testers, but the company will also "work on in-development features like spectating and progression."
All players who have access to the closed beta before the break will have access to it when it returns in mid-to-late January. No players will be added to the beta before January, but the company plans to add more players when the team-based shooter does come back online.
More information about testing will be released in January.
Overwatch's beta was launched on October 27, and the full game is set to release in spring 2016. Blizzard announced at Blizzcon that the game will be playable on PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4.
Razer and Blizzard have also teamed up to launch PC gaming peripheralsalongside the game. The collection includes "themed, enhanced versions of its Death Adder Chroma gaming mouse, Black Widow Chroma keyboard, and Goliathus Extended mouse mat."
